I Love you Joe

Sooooo...

Joe over at Hippy Joe's mopeds and Babes Blog has been giving me a hard time about not updating my blog. Its been a crazy three months, got kicked out of the old garage, got a job, quit my old job, found a temp garage, ran away to europe for 5 weeks, yada yada yada...

New office Building

When i got back and had an income again, I went searching for a new garage. Found one, in Logan Square...

And it looked like this, and has temporarily been named 'The Sticky Throttles Garage'

Then we started moving stuff in and having a bit of fun. Adam, the newest Babel in Chicago also is in the garage and has some pretty awesome ideas for builds.

So after finally getting moved in, the finished (bit messy in this pic) garage looks like this:

Now is when the shenanigans started...

Justin, in his infinite wisdom of art and culture, decided to take a shot at adding some class to the new spot. The results were, in my opinion, spectacular.

'Models in Space'

In addition, Justin was also able to find himself a new rally girlfriend. I hear she plans on making the trip down to the Zombieshop for the Nashville Rally. We can only hope....

Meet Derek, another resident of the garage, who just picked up a Newport at CBBG and decided it needed some adjustments...

We also came up with an innovative way of opening wine bottles. Cause ya know, gotta be classy sometimes...

Now to get us caught up to the present day (ya happy yet Joe?)....

Last weekend we had a garage party which started early, maybe too early for some. Justin was singing REO Speedwagon into his beer can microphone at 9pm...

which then evolved to garage hockey...

Thats it for now. Expect some actual moped related posts in the future. I got that app for my phone.

One last thing, joe need company...

Moped night plus M.O.P.E.D

So last night was Tuesday, and Tuesdays in Chicago are moped night. We met up at my garage, hung out, wrenched a bit, then headed over to check out HnR Will's new shop; its pretty swanky. Should be quite convenient to run down the street to pick up little bits needed to finish builds and maintenance.

Rain Delay!

The rain came suddenly and hard so our hopes for a ride got washed away, but we did manage to shuffle back to my garage, grabbing beer on the way. Crazy Chicago weather always has us on our toes. Oh well, still and awesome night.

Hey guys, gals, and things.

I have finally decided that I have enough interesting (subjective) content to actually start a Moped Blog. As a result, I will be using this as my main outlet for all moped related high jinx. Hopefully you will at least get some entertainment out of what I post if not some actual useful information. My goal is to update this thing once a week, so feel free to yell if I don't do so.

As an introduction, here is a little information about myself:

I'm Sebek, commonly referred to by friends simply as Seb. I live in Chicago and work on mopeds out of my garage which has been lovingly given the nickname 'Seb's Used Parts'. I've been doing this whole moped thing since around 2006 when I bought my first moped, a Batavus Starflite. Since then, I've owned many a moped, many of which have found their way to other owners.

I work on mopeds as a hobby, but in addition to my own, many other people's mopeds (you down with OPM?) find their way in and out in various states of repair and awesomeness. I hope this becomes a channel by which to show you what happens in and around Chicago as well as the various locations mopeds lead me to.

I guess that's it for now. Check back soon for a real post. I have some good pics and stories to share from Blood Drive Infinity.
